What is Dissociative Identity Disorder?
Wikipedia: Dissociative identity disorder (DID) is a psychiatric diagnosis that describes a condition in which a person displays multiple distinct identities or personalities (known as alter egos or alters), each with its own pattern of perceiving and interacting with the environment.

Wiktionary: A mental disorder characterized by the presence of two or more personality states or distinct identities that repeatedly take control of a person' behavior.

Dissociative Identity Disorder, formly known as Multiple Personality Disorder, is not a prescence of being possessed by a demon; but a form of coping mechinism produced by a sufferers subconcience mind.

People with the subconcious mind that will lead to D.I.D normally under go a traumatic or series of traumatic events that one person cannot cope with. D.I.D is our form of protection that we create subconciously in order to survive.

Some survivors of D.I.D see this form of coping as a gift. If we can learn to be in control of our alters or live peacefully with them, having D.I.D can be benefical to us coping with every day life.

However, until a D.I.D sufferer can gain help to control this, D.I.D can be very difficult to deal with, emotionally and physically for the sufferer, friends and family. The lack of knowledge in D.I.D is causing amazing amounts of stress to D.I.D sufferers and families all accross the globe.

It's time the world put myths aside, and began looking at the reality of this disorder.
